Winter's Gate || Manaan

Artwork for Progressive Metal outfit Winter's Gate single Manaan. I first started working with Winter's Gate a few years ago on their EP Between Lifetimes. Always enjoy working with these guys and appreciate the fresh and unique concepts they bring to the table. The concept behind this piece was being forgotten and the desolation of knowing all your achievements will eventually be lost to time. For the composition I wanted to continue the story of the figure on the cover of Between Lifetimes. Here we find him in a dense and murky forest contemplating the crumbling head of a massive statue. A relic of a bygone civilization forgotten by all. A reflection perhaps of himself and of our own fear of mortality.
