The Hungry God

Here is a piece outside of music related artwork, commissioned for a LARP group. The concept prompt I was provided however was very metal.

“It is said that the hungry god was born on an ancient battlefield of the dead. He sits, running his fingers through the ashes of a thousand burned enemies. He came from the ashes. He came from the decaying and rotting flesh. He came from the blood, from tears and sweat. He drinks the tears of the mourning widows, eats the flesh off the bones of the war orphans till they sparkle white in the sun. His clothes are dyed red in the endless stream of blood, leaving a red trail wherever he goes. His crown is made out of the armor and swords of the fallen, no jewels adorn it, only rotting teeth and bones.”

I approached this piece as if I was designing a character concept. I also used the opportunity to experiment with different styles such as the gradient background and swirling abstract tendrils. I kept some of the rendering a bit flat to give it more of a graphic look like a DnD book or fantasy cover.
