Album Artwork 2021
---
The final chapter of the Tyrannotophia saga is now upon us. Working on this series has been one of my favorite projects to date and it's been an incredible journey bringing this story to life. This artwork is a full reveal of the art from Dusk of Anguish and the climax of the ritual that began in Dawn Of Corruption.
The concept for this release was pretty tricky to pull off. Alan wanted to have an album cover within an album cover that could be split into another EP and a full length album. I had to ensure that a portion of the piece would not give any clues as to being part of anything bigger, while making sure it was cohesive with the rest of the artwork. The looming figure above had been buried underground for an age with the top part of it's head being carved out into a cathedral. I needed the character design to look like an ancient dark god while also giving off the impression of being buried and decaying. I sketched out quite a few variations of the design and revised the armor half a dozen times while painting it.
This was definitely one of my most challenging but rewarding covers to work on and I woke up everyday eagerly anticipating adding more to the piece. Glad to finally show off all the hard work that I put into this project and look forward to revealing everything that went into the album design (I have some more art to show off from the digipak at a later point).
