"Artwork for symphonic black metal outfit Vesperian Sorrow. This album is a new release of their 2006 album, completely re-recorded and produced. The concept is a stargate sitting in the remnants of a destroyed civilization. I wanted this piece to feel desolate with this immense slowly decaying stargate dominating the scene. I used muted grayish blue tones in the landscape to create the feeling of desolation. But then used vivid reds and purples to bring energy and focus to the gate."
