Ophidian Memory || The Stag

Here is a recently finished artwork for Ophidian Memory's upcoming full length “The Stag.” The concept is inspired by the narrative behind the lyrics on the album. The painting depicts The Stag, one of three creatures created to manipulate and use humanity. The Stag is being offered a follower of the faith to be cleansed in its soul burning flame. Faithful and unfaithful followers are harvested to extend the life of The Stag and the faithful are turned to ash. However the bodies of the unfaithful remain as a hollow shell and are known as Lurkers. The robed figures are Seraphs, leaders of the flock that bring the sacrifices to The Stag.
